DAVIDSON COUNTY BABE RUTH LEAGUE

The Davidson County Babe Ruth League was established in October 2003 with a representative from each of the following communities: Arcadia, Churchland, Midway, Reeds and Welcome. Davis-Townsend would join in 2006, with Southwood and Wallburg joining in 2013. Brier Creek, Fair Grove, Friendship, Hasty, Pilot, and South Davidson would join in 2017.

DCBRL has grown from 35 teams in our first season to 111 teams in our 2023 spring season. The league is the largest Babe Ruth league in the state and also the largest in the Southeast Region.

The purpose of establishing this association was to expand opportunities for the kids of Davidson County. Not only would this league offer baseball and softball on a recreational level, but it would also allow serious players to advance in All-star tournament play beyond their regular season.

ROOKIE

Cal Ripken Rookie Division 7-8

Players that participated in the 2023 Spring Season can stay in the Rookie Boys division in the fall or move up to the division they will play in the 2024 Fall Season.

Players age 7-8 on or before April 30th.

7 year olds - Any Player born 05/01/2014 - 04/30/2015

8 year olds - Any player born 05/01/2013 - 04/30/2014

Practices begin - First week of September (tentative)
Opening Day - Monday, September 18th
Closing Day - November 12 (tentative)

MINOR

Cal Ripken Minors Division 9-10

Players that participated in the 2023 Spring Season can stay in the Minor Boys division in the fall or move up to the division they will play in the 2024 Fall Season.

Players age 9-10 on or before April 30th.

The Minors division is where the kids begin pitching to each other, advancing on passed balls, stealing bases and really learning the great game of baseball.

9 year olds - Any player born 05/01/2013 - 04/30/2014
10 year olds - Any player born 05/01/2012 - 04/30/2013

Practices begin - First week of September
Opening Day - Mon. September 18th
Closing Day - Before November 12. (tentative)

MAJOR

Cal Ripken Major Division 11-12

Players that participated in the 2023 Spring Season can stay in the Major Boys division in the fall or move up to the division they will play in the 2024 Fall Season.

Players age 11-12 on or before April 30th.

The complete baseball experience with runners leading, pitchers picking off runners and a larger 50/70 field. (50' Pitcher Mound/ 70' Bases).

11 year olds - Any player born 05/01/2011 - 04/30/2012
12 year olds - Any player born 05/01/2010 - 04/30/2011

Practices begin - First week in September
Opening Day - Monday, September 18th
Closing Day - November 12 (tentative)
