Cheer 2024

Welcome to registration for the 2024 Fall season of Pop Warner Cheer.
 
About Cheer:
The 2024 West Putnam Pop Warner Cheer program will see an exciting season this year starting August 1, 2024. This season will include Sideline Cheer and Competition Cheer. Your athlete will receive a rented* uniform, however, you will need to buy white cheer shoes.
 
*Registration fee covers the uniform rental cost. Uniform top(s) and bottoms need to be returned at the end of the season. Bows and bloomers are the athletes to keep.
 
Cost: $150.00
Early Bird Discounts available:
  • Register by May 1, 2024 = $50 discount
  • Register by July 4th, 2024 = $25 discount
  • Payment plan available during checkout (additional fee(s) may apply)
 
Division/Age**:
Tiny Mite: Ages 5-7
Mitey Mite: Ages 7-9
Jr. Pee Wee: Ages 8-11
Pee Wee: Ages 9-12
 
**Age is determined by your child’s age on July 31, 2024. There is zero flexibility on this rule.
Division placement will be made official once registration ends based on their age and our registration numbers. There is no guarantee your child will be on their preferred squad. 
 
Practice:
Our season starts August 1st. Practice is typically Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6pm-8pm. Each athlete must have 20 conditioning hours logged before cheering at games. Practice days/times may vary.
 
Games:
Games are on Saturdays. Our home games are at Interlachen Junior/Senior High School. Away game locations vary and may include, but are not limited to; Gainesville, Palatka, Starke, Lake City, and St. Augustine.
 
Competition:
Putnam Athletic League Cheer Competition is held in October in Gainesville. Regional Cheer Competition is held over Thanksgiving Weekend in Orlando. Nationals Cheer Competition is held in December in Orlando. Teams must place to move on to regionals and nationals.
 
Volunteering:
We love volunteers, our association is a non-profit run by volunteers.
In order for our association to exist we ask our parents to volunteer. There are many tasks that must be covered by parents in order for the association to function, such as needing parents to help with crafts, field set-up, field take-down, field clean-up, help with fundraiser events, etc.
 
Volunteer to Coach:
We must have coaches established for each of our cheer teams. If you are interested in applying for a coach's position, please let us know. Experience is not required. Background checks must be performed, and there is mandatory training for all coaches. Coaches receive free game and competition entrance!!

Football 2024

Players begin practicing on August 1 in preparation for their season openers, usually held during the last week in August or first week in September. A participant can be considered eligible for the season when he/she has met the four basic criteria for participation: A candidate must provide proof of age, parental consent, a medical examination, and academic fitness.

What makes Pop Warner unique as an organization is our commitment to academic excellence among our participants. A participant must maintain a 2.0 Grade Point Average/70 percent in school in order to participate during the season. 

A football team plays a 7 to 9 game schedule and at the end of the regular season, usually during the last week in October, a team prepares for league playoffs.

Once a league champion has been decided and a team has won the right to participate in regional championships. Those teams that win at the regional championships are invited to the Pop Warner Super Bowl in Orlando to compete for a national championship.
