REDHAWKS FOOTBALL
The Stewarts Creek Youth Football and Cheer Association (SCYFCA) is a member of the Tennessee Youth Football League (TNYFL) and calls Stewarts Creek High School's Football field home. Our teams will provide children ages 4-12 with the opportunity to participate in football and cheerleading programs while representing the Stewarts Creek Community.
Game Day Football
- The season normally starts around mid-August and lasts through early November. Game Day schedule will be announced as soon as possible (once the TNYL releases).
- On game day, players are required to arrive at the game location at least one (1) hour early; this allows time to warm up and weigh in before kickoff. Each player must weigh in before every game to be eligible to play.
- Players are expected to come dressed in their game pants with their jerseys over their shoulder pads and prepared for the game.
- Only water/clear liquids are allowed while players are in their uniforms.
Uniform Fitting
- We offer multiple fittings from May through July. We will continue to fit newly registered players as they register- up until our cutoff date.
- Each player will receive their helmet and shoulder pads on the first day. Shoulder pad rentals are $50.00.
Football Practice
- Football practice starts in July (week of 7/15). Practice days are normally Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM (subject to change).
- We recommend that each player bring a water bottle labeled with their name. Water bottles will be placed in a designated area for easy access during frequent water breaks.
Practice Uniforms
- You are responsible for providing a practice uniform. We have jerseys and pants available with the biggest size available being a Youth Large, and they are VERY limited in quantity. Practice uniforms are handed out on a first come, first served basis.
- The first two (2) days of practice will be t-shirt, shorts, cleats, mouthpiece, and helmet only.
- The remaining practices will be FULLY PADDED (helmet, shoulder pads, practice pants, mouthpiece, and cleats).
Practice Structure
- All players will be separated into their age groups and will practice with their direct coach to be evaluated for a position.
- Age groups with multiple teams will be evaluated over a five (5) day period and will be assigned a team by either a coach’s draft or ability level.
Parent Obligations
- All parents have two (2) obligations during the season.
- Work one (1) hour concession shift per player.
- Participate in the fundraiser (selling popcorn).
** Parents can buy out of each obligation for an additional $35 for concessions and $50 for fundraisers.
Game Day Fundraising
- Complete the July or August Calendar- Fill in the full month (31 days) and get 100% of your $195 registration fee returned!
- Fundraisers will be turned in via cash, Venmo, Cashapp, or PayPal no later than 8/31/24.
Parent Volunteers
- Parent volunteer calendar will be sent for required and elective sign-ups (concessions, game chains, team parent, homecoming committee, etc.).
