Huntington Beach Pateadores girls soccer team made a impressive debut in tournament play as a first year team when they were crowned Champs in the 4th Annual Swallows Cup held in San Juan Capistrano on June 14 and 15th.
The first game was against Ladera Ranch that finished with a score of 5-1. Their next game vs Irvine Strikers FC ended up being a 2-0 shutout. The victories advanced them into the semi finals held on Fathers Day against Mission Viejo Strikers with a 2-1 victory propelling them into the finals.
Their opponents for the Championships was the experienced first flight FC Golden State. The HB Pats were able to subdue FC Golden State 3-0 to win the Swallows Cup.
