Coach Matt Swindle comes from United Futbol Club where he oversaw the club as the Director of Coaching for 14 years. During his time at United FC, the club experienced a growth in teams from 12 to over 40 teams as well as a number of Cal South State and National Cup championships. His teams have won numerous league, state and college showcase tournaments. In addition to his club coaching successes, Coach Swindle was in charge of the Brea Olinda HS Boys Varsity team from 1992-2003 where they won 9 league championships and a CIF Division III Championship in 2001. During his time at BOHS, he was named League Coach of the Year 8 times as well as LA Times and OC Register Coach of the Year in 2001.
Coach Swindle earned a doctorate degree from the University of Southern California (USC) in Educational Leadership in 2005. He holds a USSF D License as well as a NSCAA National Diploma. He has worked with the ODP program as a head coach as well as the Amateur Athletic Foundation as an instructor. He currently leads the Independent Study Program for the Brea Olinda Unified School District. The Pateadores brought Matt Swindle to lead the MV Pateadores as the Area Director for the 2014-15 season as well as assist with the growth of the Pateadores area chapters.
His coaching philosophy is to use the game of soccer as a tool to develop players into competitive individuals working together toward the common goal of achieving individual and team success.
Coach Swindle resides in Brea, CA with wife Claudia and three kids, Jackson (13), Olivia (10) and Eliana (7). In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing and traveling.
