Girls' Teams Shine After 1st Round of CSL
Some Pateadores girls' teams have found themselves in the hunt to capture their respective brackets. The GU9, GU12, GU13 and GU14 completed the first round of CSL leading their brackets with outstanding play.
The GU9's find themselves 6-1-0 and tied with West Coast in the Bronze Gamma bracket. Strong defense has been their trademark as they have allowed a league best three goals for the first seven games. As all teams improve, the second round should prove to be quite the challenge and the league championship may come down to a timely goal here and there.
Coach Megan and her GU12 team have reached the halfway point in the season with an impressive record of five wins, two ties and no losses. The girls have racked up an amazing 17 goals - all a direct result of phenomenal teamwork between the midfield and forwards. A strong defensive line and exceptional goalkeeping have resulted in six shut-outs and only one goal conceded. Currently, the team is a mere two points out of first place and is gaining momentum. Coach Megan has been conducting fantastic training sessions and the team is improving every week.
The girls U13 team had a successful first round of league play. Despite some
performance hiccups the team managed to go 7-0 and sits on top of the
standings. They are dedicated to continuing their hard work and improving as they move
forward.
The girls U14 Silver team is in a very difficult league where each and every
game is a battle. They went 6-1 through the first half of league and are
actually 7-1-1 as of this article. There is a long way to go and a lot of challenging
matchups coming up. The girls continue to keep proper focus and are working
hard.
