The Pateadores U-17/18 Academy team fought Real Salt Lake to a 1-1 draw at home in Costa Mesa. With the well-earned result, the Pats U-17/18 remain on a roll in March, having already defeated the California Development Academy 1-0 and Real So Cal 2-1. The seven of nine points earned in the past three weeks has moved Head Coach George Larsen’s squad into fourth place in the So Cal Division, and put pressure on the MLS youth teams (Chivas USA, LA Galaxy, Real Salt Lake) just ahead in the standings. This string of positive results highlighted the team’s many strengths, including its impressive tactical awareness and fluid ball movement.
