The new 2011 Pateadores GU9 team started their club soccer journey with a convincing championship win at the recent OC Revolution Cup. Over the short weekend, the young new gang gradually came into their own as they played an ever improving team game, yet all the while individual talents were constantly on display.
Saturday claimed victories over OC Revolution 5-1 and CFC 2-1. Sunday morning the Lady Pateadores suffered their first defeat to very polished Long Beach FC 2-0. However, the team got their rematch with Long Beach FC in the Championship game that same afternoon. The girls came out strong with the first goal scored by Desiree Mendoza as she hammered a rocket from the left wing. Keyla Fragoso followed with another long ball from outside the box as the center midfielder. The team maintained constant pressure on Long Beach and came away with a convincing 2-0 victory.
The team is trained and coached by Kevin Elson and Uwe Schick. Team Manager is Kristi Turchi.
