Toms River Youth Soccer Club offers competitive travel play from ages 8 (U9) and up with approximately 50 teams. Our teams compete primarily in MOSA and the Jersey Coast League with the opportunity to play in JAGS, MAPS, and other competitive leagues.
Experience is required in most cases and players typically must attend a try-out to ensure their skill level is appropriate for the team. Players are placed on a team with approximately 12 to 16 other players under the direction of a volunteer coach. The coach is required by the club to have at least an F level coaching license.
U9 & U10 teams play a “small-sided“ game - 8v8. U11 teams and older play a “large-sided“ game - 11v11. Teams typically play ten games in the Fall and ten games in the Spring. Half of the games are at home and half of the games are away. Away games are mostly in Ocean and Monmouth counties. Games are played on Saturdays and Sundays depending on which league the team participates in. Most teams practice two evenings during the week. The Fall season starts in early September; the Spring season starts in March. Teams are required to work with a club assigned trainer and a there is an additional fee for the training.
Although we will make every effort to place every child that wants to play, placement cannot be guaranteed at this age level. Competitive program players must purchase a club uniform for an additional charge.
