BSC Message on COVID-19

4/19/20 Message to Parents regarding COVID-19

Hello Parents, Coaches, and Club members,

The BSC Executive Committee has continued to monitor the COVID-19 situation in our community and has decided to act with careful consideration.

Earlier this week, Illinois Youth Soccer extended the suspension of play for Illinois soccer teams until at least May 15th. In addition, Bolingbrook Park District has indicated that, at best, our fields will not be in playing condition until May 30th.

Given these facts, and the continued uncertainty we find ourselves in with regard to social distancing guidelines, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Spring Recreational program this year. Registered families have been sent a separate communication notifying them of the cancellation and timeline for refunds.

At this time our Travel programs have not been cancelled, but are on hold until at least May 15th. We are working with the various travel leagues to determine the feasibility of playing this spring. Once a decision has been made, we will notify players and their families.

The safety of our players, coaches, referees and families is our highest priority. Now, and at all times, parents are encouraged to make decisions about the safety and needs of their children and the Club respects those choices.

We will continue to monitor and update our status as the situation evolves.

Thanks,

Kividi Kikama, President
Andy Neubauer, Executive Vice President
Mary Alexander-Basta, Secretary
Jim Petkus, Treasurer
Michael Shay, VP - Travel Programs
Derek Kaczmarczyk, VP - Recreational Programs

3/29/20 Message to Parents regarding COVID-19

Hello Parents, Coaches, and Club members,

The BSC Executive Committee has continued to monitor the COVID-19 situation in our community and has decided to act with careful consideration.

All games and practices, including Recreational, Travel, Premiership, etc are not sanctioned and cannot start until at least April 30th. We will reevaluate the situation and communicate any changes as they become available.

With the recent extension of the federal social distancing directive, May 1st seems to be the logical date to attempt to resume any soccer related activities. This will put us beyond our planned start date for the Sping season, meaning that this season will be different compared to seasons past. That said, and as safety permits, we are committed to providing the best possible experience to our families for the upcoming season. As we have all learned this situation is very fluid so we will continue to monitor any changes in policies to determine our next steps.

BSC, as always, puts the safety and health of our players and families first. Now, and at all times, parents are encouraged to make decisions about the safety and needs of their children and the Club respects those choices.

We will continue to monitor and update our status as the situation evolves.

Thanks,

Kividi Kikama, President
Andy Neubauer, Executive Vice President
Mary Alexander-Basta, Secretary
Jim Petkus, Treasurer
Michael Shay, VP - Travel Programs
Derek Kaczmarczyk, VP - Recreational Programs

3/18/20 UPDATE: All activities are suspended through April 15. Additional updates will be provided after the situation is reassessed on March 29. Thank you -

3/12/20 Message to Parents regarding Coronavirus

Hello Parents, Coaches, and Club members,

The BSC Executive Committee has reviewed the COVID-19 situation in our community and has decided to act with careful consideration.

All games and practices, including Recreational, Travel, Premiership, etc are not sanctioned and hereby cancelled by the Club from today through March 29. We will reevaluate the situation and communicate any changes at that time.

The closure of Valley View District 365 and Indian Prairie District 204 sports facilities for Club use, as well as the closure and cancellation of most indoor games made this a fairly easy decision. We will re-evaluate on March 29 and consider possibly holding outdoor practices with reasonable precautions for the upcoming season. US Soccer and IYSA have cancelled all games and activities until April 15.

BSC, as always, puts the safety and health of our players and families first. Now, and at all times, parents are encouraged to make decisions about the safety and needs of their children and the Club respects those choices.

We will continue to monitor and update our status as the situation evolves.

Thanks,
