Frequently Asked Questions
Does my child need to attend evaluations?
Yes. Evaluation sessions are designed to rate each players skill level in ball handling, shooting, running, offense and defense. Evaluation scores will be used to form teams that are equal, thus creating a fun and competitive league. If it is absolutely necessary for your child to miss evaluations, they will still be placed on a team.
Can my child "Play Up" in an older age group/grade level?
Players are encouraged to play in their own grade with their peers and classmates. Under certain occasions we will allow a player to play up one league (never down). Parents/Guardians who wish their child to be evaluated in an older age group should make their request to the Basketball Directors as soon as possible via email at [email protected]. The player MUST attend evaluations and score in the top 25% of the evaluation group at the next grade level to be eligible for consideration. All decisions are at the sole discretion of the CDAA Basketball Directors based on space availability and team balancing.
Can I coach my child’s team or volunteer to help?
Our program is solely run by volunteers and cannot operate without them! We are always in need of coaches and volunteers. We have coach and volunteer positions available at all grade levels. Please consider coaching or volunteering! You can indicate your desire to coach or volunteer during the online registration process or by contacting the Basketball Directors at [email protected].
Note - All coaches must complete a background check and concussion training.
Who do I contact with questions?
