U7/8 HAPPY SOCCER FEET

·      Safety first

·      Fun and enjoyment

·      Individual 1vs1 and very small groups (in 2’s)

·      Technical activities of short duration (change of direction, moves to beat and opponent, ball manipulation) to improve coordination and agility

·      Avoid laps, lines and lectures

·      Positive environment only

·      Simple to complex ending in game

·      Game is 4vs4

U9/10 FREE SOCCER SPIRIT

·      Safety first

·      Fun and Enjoyment

·      Organized Training Sessions

·      Individual 1vs1, 2vs1, 2v2 and Small Groups (Up to 3’s)

·      Technical activities of longer duration to improve technique, agility, and coordination.

·      Encourage trial and error and problem -solving strategies

·      Improve passing, receiving, controlling, dribbling, shooting, attacking, and defending.

·      Simple to complex, ending with game

·      Positive environment only

·      Game is 7vs7.

U11/12 FUTURE STARS

·      Safety first

·      Organized training session

·      Emphasize the positive

·      Individual 1vs1, 2vs1, 2vs2, 3vs2, 3vs3 and small groups (up to 4’s)

·      Technical activities of longer duration to improve technique, agility, coordination, and general physical fitness

·      Improve decision making and problem- solving strategies to find better options on the field

·      Introduce the principals of attack and defense.

·      Cement the 1vs1 offensively and defensively

·      Utilize the #’s Up advantage

·      Minimize the numbers down advantage

·      Simple to complex, ending in game

·      Game is 9vs9.

U13/14 BRIGHT STARS

·      Safety first

·      Fun and enjoyment

·      Organized training session

·      Emphasize the positive and ask what they feel they can do to improve

·      Individual and small tactics

·      Focus on the principles of attack and defense

·      Improve skills and technique on demand with both feet such as passing and receiving, dribbling, shooting, heading, and tackling.

·      Continue to improve critical thinking, decision making, and problem -solving strategies

·      Improve field awareness and pitch geography

·      Emphasize the importance of shape on the field

·      Improve combination play and promote possession

·      Expose players to aerobic and anaerobic demands of the game to develop a higher level of physical fitness.

·      Develop the psychological advantage of our players, such as confidence, competitiveness, positive attitude, and teamwork.

·      Promote sportsmanship and fair play

U15/16 CLUB STARS

·      Dynamic/Technical warm ups

·      Small sided and expanded small sided activities

·      Individual, small groups, and team tactics

·      Meet the specific physical demands of the game by imposing 1 work: 1 rest ratio.

·      Encourage possession and keep away, with direction, for extended time.

·      Recognize and manage speed of play

·      Focus on principals of attack and defense and demand functional roles

·      Encourage players’ awareness of laws of the game to gain tactical advantage.

U17/18 STARS
