2013
Thanks to Ministry Door County Medical Center and Therma-Tron-X this year we were able to  bring in a professional trainer to run our practices for the first 3 weeks.  Coaches this means once a week you will have a professional coach run drills with your team (you still need to help and you will learn as well).  Players this means you will get extra special training and practices 3 times!  We are very thankful to Ministry and TTX, without them we could not offer this special program.

COACHES this year you must take an on-line concussion training class.  There are 2 options and both are free.  http://www.saysoccer.org/concussionpolicy.aspx

We want kids to play soccer and just because their family has fallen on hard times doesn't mean they should not get to play.  We purposely try to keep our costs low even loosing money so everyone can afford to play.  The board also realizes that sometimes there isn't anyway a family can afford $45 so we are going to offer financial assistance for those truly in need.  We will have an application form you can download and fill out to request assistance...no one will see it or know about except for our Board.  Again, this is for those truly in need and who would not be able to play with out it but we are happy to help!  The link to download and application is below under DCSA aid.pdf

Door County Soccer Association wrapped up their 30th summer season with an end of the year meeting for all coaches and board members.  Discussed at the meeting was that registration was up from last year with 373 players in Sturgeon Bay.  Including players in the Northern Door and Washington Island leagues the number is over 500.  Cost next year will remain the same at $45 (with family discounts & aid for financial hardships available) .  SAY soccer is the cheapest and most popular summer sport in Door County.
If you are truly in need of financial assistance you can download a form to complete here DCSA aid.pdf

Door County Parks Dept was recognized for our new sign and great care of our fields. Volunteer coaches and board members were also thanked and recognized. Registration for next year begins January 1st, all sign ups are on-line at www.DoorSoccer.Com The board for 2013 is Scott Bader, Bob Desotelle, Tracy Glasheen, Matt Luders, John Safranski, and of course Dick Clark, DCSA is affiliated with S.A.Y.  Soccer Association for Youth where kids learn the sport of soccer and most importantly have fun.  Teams are put together via a blind draw and every player gets to play at least half of the game.
