Adam Van’t Hof College Scholarship 

The family of Adam Van’t Hof, through the Tonka United Soccer Association Board of Directors, has authorized two annual $1,000 college scholarships to be used toward education expenses.  This award has been established as a memorial to Adam Van’t Hof, a former Tonka United player and referee. This scholarship is to be given in recognition of graduating male and female high school players or referees who demonstrate commitment, excellence and leadership in the Tonka United soccer program.  Candidates may be self nominated, nominated by a player, coach, referee or other adult. Deadline for receipt of nominations is May 13, 2016.  The award decision will be announced by May 27, 2016.

Guidelines and Criteria

1.     Two (2) annual $1,000.00 college scholarships funded by the Adam Van’t Hof Memorial Fund and Tonka United Soccer Association.

2.     The scholarships will be awarded to male and female players and/or referees who are completing their junior year of high school.

3.     Scholarships will be awarded to one male and one female player/referee. TUSA reserves right to award both scholarships to two male or female candidates.

4.     Candidates may be self nominated, nominated a by player, coach, or other adult.

5.     Nominations must be received by June 13, 2014 and award determination will be completed by June 25.

6.     A committee of three will evaluate nominations and make scholarship selections.  Committee will be comprised of a member of the Van’t Hof family and two representatives of Tonka United Soccer Association.

7.     Criteria for award:

·      Hardworking and diligent. Attend every practice and game possible.

·      Accepts direction and advice. Appreciate coaches, teammates and officials.

·      Unselfish attitude. Recognized as a team player.

·      Achieves in their role beyond expectations. Not necessarily highest scorer or most talented.

·      Extracurricular involvement in soccer.

·      Scholarship want/need.

8.     The scholarship check will be directed in joint to the recipient and college of choice.
