Brianne Searl, starting defender for the Pateadores Girls U17 White, has committed to
play soccer next fall at Cal State San Marcos. CSUSM is a nationally-ranked NAIA program which will attain NCAA Division II status in 2012.
Searl, the Pateadores co-captain, will graduate from Irvine High School in June 2011 and will begin training with the Cougars after a short break. She was a 3-year starter for the Irvine High School soccer team, and was a member of the North Irvine SC team that came to Pateadores two years ago. She played first for Coach Hamid Sedehi and last year for Coach Sean Ganey. Searl credits both coaches for providing excellent technical instruction and for giving her the opportunity to develop as a leader on the field. She was an anchor of the defense, playing with poise and possessing an acute tactical awareness.
