Maxx Bauman, a leading scorer for the Pateadores United States Development Academy U18 team, has announced that he will attend Sacramento State University. Bauman has 8 goals through the first 15 games including a hat trick against the Atlanta Fire at the U.S. Soccer Showcase in Phoenix this past December.
Sacramento State has made the NCAA Tournament the past two seasons and the Hornets will be looking to Maxx to help them to a third straight invitation to the NCAA big dance. Pateadores Academy director, Matt Tutton comments, “Maxx Bauman is a great addition to Sacramento State University. He has made a very successful transition to playing as a forward during his time with our USDA team. He brings a tremendous amount of energy and commitment to the position and causes difficulties for opposing defenses with his quickness and his ability to improvise. I look forward to seeing him take the next step at the collegiate level.”
Bauman and his Academy BU18 teammates are in an intense battle for a USDA playoff spot. Halfway through the season, the team is near the top of the Southern California Division and has had an important victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy U18 team and a hard-fought draw against Chivas USA.
