The Pateadores proudly recognize those players selected to the US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program and for representing the Pateadores’ advanced technical and tactical style of play.
Here are a few examples: John Baron from Matt Tutton’s U15 team represented 1996 Region IV team in the Thanksgiving Inter-regional ODP Tournament in Orlando, Florida. Following his performance there, CalSouth’s ODP asked John to play up a year with the 1995s in the ODP Championships in Phoenix, Arizona in January where he scored a goal during pool play. Will Cline and Trevor Hyman, midfielders from Coach Tutton’s U15 team, were named co-captains of the 1995 Region IV team in the Christmas Inter-Regional ODP Tournament in Orlando, Florida and their performance in front of over 80 college scouts earned both of them selections to the Tournament All-Star Team. Will and Trevor just returned from Costa Rica, where they captained the Region IV squad to a 1-1-2 record against the youth academies of Costa Rica’s Primer Division Teams: Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, Brujas F.C. de Desamparados, Club Sport Herediano, and Deportivo Saprissa. Following each match, the Costa Rican players and staff identified the Region IV squad’s top player. The Alajuela and Saprissa teams recognized Will as Region IV’s “Man-of-the-Match” from their respective matches, and Trevor earned that recognition from the Brujas squad.
