
The girls Under 12 team from Pateadores Soccer Club- Huntington Beach has now come out on top in back to back tournaments when they won the PATS Cup tournament held July 26-27 in San Juan Capistrano. In their first game against another PATS team from Rancho Santa Margarita, they had a shutout with a 6-0 win. The second game, played at Rancho Capistrano, ended in a 2-2 tie against an impressive Chula Vista team. In Sunday’s games, held at JSerra High School, the team won 3-0 over Newport Mesa Soccer Club which took them to the finals against the Chula Vista team again. The HB PATS came out on top with a 3-0 win. Guest player Sarah Boucher scored the first goal in the final game followed by a goal from goalie Mattie Soules with the final goal scored by Kate Marsh. Goal Keepers Sophia Doumanian, Mattie Soules, and Julia Svartstrom were equally impressive.
The team consists of: Mikayla Carman, Sophia Doumanian, Catherine Layton, Kate Marsh, Kaili Manthorne, Isabella Messina, Lindsay Rule, Niki Serrano, Allyson Sickels, Mattie Soules, Cristina Stewart, Julia Svartstrom, Vanessa Tapia, Jillian Tubbs, Cora Sjogren, and Annika Weiderin. The team welcomed guest players Claudia Capoccia, Jackie Peterson, and Sarah Boucher. The team is coached by Dave Vasquez, Jim Wallings, and Holly Sjogren.
