The Pateadores U.S. Development Academy U-17/18 team won big on the road against two highly-regarded opponents in the Bay Area. The pair of 3-1 victories against the Santa Cruz Breakers and DeAnza Force made it three-in-row for Head Coach Matt Tutton’s side.
The Pats shook-off the effects of an 8-hour bus ride and dominated play in both games with one-touch playmaking and surgical finishing. This was particularly true in the DeAnza Force game. The local Force side had talent and toughness, but, in a flash, fell behind 3-0 as the Pats’ defender-midfield combination plays found wingers who slotted the balls past the Force’s surprised keeper again and again.
Local spectators were left scratching their heads at how the Pats turned such competitive games into one-sided victories.
