With a series of clutch victories, both Pateadores U.S. Development Academy teams qualified for the playoffs to be held in Frisco, Texas starting on Monday, June 25.
For the Pats Academy U-17/18, the veteran players are well-prepared by Head Coach George Larsen and Assistant Coach Thomas Dooley for the tough task ahead, and eager to defend the Pateadores U-17/18 national championship title won in 2011.
In the under-16 age group, the Pats Academy U-15/16 is viewed by experts as a dark-horse candidate capable of beating any team in the field. The team played at its best against top teams like the Vancouver Whitecaps and Seattle Sounders during the regular season. Head Coach & Pateadores Academy Director Matt Tutton and Asst. Coach "Pancho Diaz" are confident that the Pats can peak at the right time in Texas.
“We compete in the most competitive conference in the country. It is a great accomplishment for us to have both our U18 and U16 academy groups qualify for the USDA playoffs. We look forward to competing against the country's top programs and showcasing our program in pursuit of a national championship,” Tutton said.
