The Pateadores BU10, BU15 and BU16 teams reached the finals of League Cup, putting their stamp of success on this marathon of a competition.
The BU15 and BU16 both had to endure torrential rains and miserable field conditions at Oaks Polo to win their semi-final games in dramatic fashion.
The BU10 had clear skies for their semi-final in San Bernardino (three weeks later) and had clear sailing on the scoreboard with a 5-0 win over Fullerton Rangers White. In the finals, despite "leaving everything on the field", the BU10 fell to their arch rivals, Barcelona Blue 3-1.
The BU15, led by Head Coach Matt Tutton, won their "final four" match with last second heroics from its midfielders to beat Real So Cal White 3-2. In the final, it was a rare League Cup match-up between the top two seeds in this age group with SC Bayern defeating the BU15 3-2 in a thrilling, end-to-end game.
Head Coach Chuey Miramontes had his BU16 (Premier) team fired-up for their semi-final and it showed. With a dominant performance, that combined grit with expert finishing, the BU16 ended the dreams of Riverside MGFM Juventus with a 2-0 win. Their Cup final was a spirited, goal-filled affair that had Eagles White coming-out on top with the 4-2 win. (Pictured BU15 with finalist trophies and t-shirts.)
