Welcome to Christy Mathewson Softball!
We are so excited to start our third season and open registration for our 2025 softball season!

FIELD- We have exciting news! Our First Responder Field will be ready for the 2025 softball season! Our 2024 Gift Card Raffle Fundraiser, the support of local businesses and families, and the time our volunteers contributed made this happen! So, for the 2025 season, our players will have TWO fields (First Responder, Streamside) of their very own. Details on how and when those fields will be utilized throughout our age groups will come!

PLAYERS- we will continue to field players from our hometowns of Dalton, Factoryville, Nicholson, and Benton! 

AGE- we will have four divisions: 8u, 10u, 12u, and 14U. We will begin practice as the weather allows. However, in years past, the season generally starts in April and ends in June. If weather allows, we love to get on the field in March. The 14 U division begins in late spring after the Junior High Softball Season is complete. We will take part in the Valley League. We will be playing other softball players from neighboring towns such as Gibson, Carbondale, Throop, etc. If we have enough 8u players, we would love to keep 8u play “in house. "Even though there is snow on the ground, and it is freezing, it’s never too early to start preparing for the season. Please stay informed through our Facebook page (Christy Mathewson ASA) with opportunities and clinics that are going on right now for fielding and pitching!

Equipment
Each team is equipped with various size USA stamped bats, helmets (with face shields), catchers gear, and USA stamped balls. Many players do have their own equipment but please know Christy Mathewson does have an equipment bag for each team that the girls are welcome to use.

**Each player does need to have their own glove. Spikes (No metal) are recommended. Face masks are also recommended.

We will have an Equipment Swap at Field Clean Up Day if you want to hold off in purchasing anything until then. However, stores seem to quickly clear out of equipment when the season rolls around.

Volunteers- The more the merrier! We need volunteers to coach and help with snack stand and field maintenance. Please register as a volunteer through the registration link while you register your player.

Fundraiser- The 2024 Gift Card Fundraiser was a success AND so much fun! We (players, coaches and families) really worked together to make this happen! Therefore, we are happy to announce we will do our Annual Gift Card Fundraiser for the 2025 Season! Details will be coming soon!
