Letter from the new Executive Director of Empire Football Club:

My name is Droo Callahan the new Executive Director of the Empire Soccer Club. I have been involved in youth sports for almost 30 years. My first love is the sport of soccer and helping young people understand success and failure through the sports. I moved to West Virginia last year and became interested in improving the sport of soccer here.

Working with many of the community leaders in soccer we are making some important changes to the experience. The Empire Soccer Club is moving in a new direction that will help develop players at a pace that is more comparable to other metropolitan environments. Our progressive program is highlighted on the "Empire Programs/ Travel Teams" page of this website but in an effort to give an overview of the changes and why, here are some of my thoughts. 

As a former member of the State of Michigan Education Staff, training sessions need to be more economical. I will be working with our staff to make each training session more impactful to the members of Empire FC. Each player will see an increase in touches that are meaningful with positive coaching points that will enhance their development. Players are created through game-like demanding coaching sessions that build confidence and creativity.
