Grade 1 - Coed
These are typically 6-8 year-old players, and teams are coed. Teams practice twice each week for an hour, and games are on Saturdays. Game times vary. Practices days/times will be set, but are not determined until closer to season start. The season typically runs 8 weeks from April to early June (Spring) and September to the last weekend in October (Fall).
There is a referee, and players are introduced to restarts (kick off, goal kicks, corner kicks, throw-ins and penalties). Current playing format is 5v5 with no goalkeepers. The goals of the U8 program are to develop soccer skills, to develop teamwork skills and to have fun. Players are placed into groups according to age.
