MA Youth Soccer COVID Updates

A summary of the latest updates are below, while more information can be found at https://www.mayouthsoccer.org/covid-hub/

If not otherwise specified here, Mass. OEEA guidelines, MYSA / MAYS guidelines, and/or municipal guidelines must be followed at all times.

·  Spectators must wear facial coverings when entering and leaving a facility and in all common areas. Spectators may remove their mask only when seated and 6’ from the next spectator group. Family units from the same household do not need to distance, but should remain 6’ from the next spectator group. Spectators must be kept at least 8 feet away from the playing surface.

·  We are no longer limited to 2 adults per child, but subject to 50% of capacity limits.

·  Players will be required to continue to wear a face covering (mask) when arriving, leaving, and on the bench when not engaged in playing on the field.

·  Masks are NOT required while engaged in moderate risk sports (soccer). At their parent’s discretion, players may continue to wear a mask while playing - over the ear masks, no gaiters, covering the nose and mouth

·  Coaches, Referees, Ref Assignors, Staff,  Team Managers, Site Admins must continue to wear masks when on the sidelines with the players, while walking around, and when entering and exiting the fields

As a reminder we fall under the umbrella of several governing bodies who all issue updates and guidelines:

·  Massachusetts Youth Soccer (MYSA, the state governing body)

·  Midland Area Youth Soccer (MAYS – our immediate parent league)

·  Town of Auburn Board of Health

·  The Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affair
