After 72 years of having multiple Little League programs in Hamilton, the city will now unite as one Little League charter organization. On Wednesday, January 7, 2026, the Little League International Charter Committee officially approved the merger between Hamilton - Fairfield Little League and West Side Little League. This decision forms the new West Side Little League, which will also include the former area of Booker T Washington YMCA Little League within its boundary. This merger brings together boys and girls from both the eastside and westside of Hamilton, allowing them to play baseball and softball together as members of a single league. All of Hamilton's Little League participants will now play under the banner of West Side Little League.
Honoring the Legacy of Hamilton- Fairfield Little League
Since 1954, Hamilton Fairfield Little League has served as the home for Little League baseball and softball on the East side of Hamilton. Over time, the area grew to include the city of Fairfield and Fairfield Township. The organization is immensely proud of its long-standing history in the Butler County community and the countless lives it has touched over the decades.
However, times have changed. For too long, the city has been divided between East and West. Travis Riley, President of Hamilton Fairfield Little League, stated, “I’m proud to announce that as of the 7th of January, there is no more inner-city rivalry. We are now ‘One Hamilton, One Little League.’ We want to personally thank all the volunteers over the past 72 years who have provided joy to so many boys and girls.”
West Side Little League: Continuing the Legacy
Since 1953, West Side Little League has served the children of Hamilton’s western neighborhoods. Now, West Side Little League is honored to serve all children across Hamilton, providing opportunities to play baseball and softball together under the Little League banner as One Hamilton. The league looks forward to welcoming hundreds of players from across the city for the 2026 season.
West Side is proud of its Little League history in the International Tournament: 40-time Ohio District 9 champion, 23-time Ohio Little League state champion, 4-time Great Lakes region champion, 5-time Little League World Series participant and 2021 LLWS Tom Seaver Bracket Champion. While the league has enjoyed success as West Side Little League, the jersey has always proudly displayed “Hamilton.” Now, the entire city is unified, and all players will represent Hamilton as West Side Little League.
