The Ohio Little League Majors State Tournament banner is coming home to fly at West Side Little League Park as the boys from Hamilton beat New Albany 17-5 to take the championship and advance to the Great Lakes Region Tournament.
West Side jumped out with a four run first inning, only to have New Albany put up their own four spot in the bottom half of the first. New Albany then scored in the bottom of the second for a 5-4 lead. The lead would only last a half inning as West Side sent 12 batters to the plate in the top of the third to score seven runs. The inning was capped off by pitcher Gavin Spears' 3-run home run to make it 12-5. Spears kept New Albany scoreless in the bottom half of the inning. West Side then sent 9 batters to the plate scoring 5 more runs,including Spears' second home run of the game, a Grand Slam. A perfect bottom of the fourth by Spears sealed the deal for West Side to win their twenty-second Ohio Little League Majors State Championship.
Next up for West Side is Eastern Little League of Lexington, KY on Saturday, August 2 at 10am in the Great Lakes Region Tournament at the Little League Central Region Complex in Whitestown, Indiana.

West Side Little League advances to the Great Lakes Region Tournament at the Little League Central Region Complex August 2-6. The Great Lakes Region winner advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA August 13-24, 2025.
