U.S.S.P. YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
INTRODUCTION TO THE PROGRAM
Welcome to the United States Soccer Prospects Youth Development Program. United States Soccer Prospects Prides itself in player development. All training sessions are structured to focus on your child's technical, cognitive, and motor skill development.
Each training session is designed to further develop your child in soccer. United States Soccer Prospects believes in one team training session environment and the second session to be a group training session with all U.S.S.P. Staff working together to develop the players. We believe each player may benefit from different teaching coaching perspectives vs the one voice. Our Technical Director truly believes that the mental development of a child should be developed by many teachers in a group environment. This is done so that the children are surrounded by trainers/coaches (who are considered soccer teachers of the game) who teach the same concept but delivers the message differently so that all developing athletes have the opportunity to learn and understand the different techniques so no child gets left behind in development!
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
If your child is a beginner or has some basic skills and seeks further development the Youth Development Program is where your child will have more time to develop and hone their skills before joining a Pre-Academy travel team.
The Youth Development Program is the pathway to our competitive program, players involved in this program seek a future in competitive soccer within the club structure.
The Youth Development Program is not a recreational program. It is designed by our Technical Director to empower our youth and further develop their individual skills in a team environment.
The Youth Development Program and its purpose is to ensure a steady development into our competitive Academy Programs.
The Youth Development Program Training Sessions are now run under the direction of our Technical Director - Jarsi Ibanez, United States Soccer Prospects Competitive Academy Coaches, and its Youth Development training staff. The Youth Development Training Staff will assist with evaluations, tracking player performance throughout the seasons, assist in training sessions where needed, and coach on the weekends to give our Youth Development Players the most undivided attention.
The Youth Development Program is divided in three seasonal programs both helping each other reach the goal of a perfectly ran academy training structure for the future players of the club. The Fall Season Program will focus more on the individual training sessions applying ball mastery and 1v1, 2v2 scenarios with minimal tactical instruction but not excluding it entirely. The Spring Season will solely focus on the technical/tactical part of the individual team player development while each program following its own player development pathway.
Fall is our Technical, Ball Mastery Developmental season with player rotation (age appropriate lessons).
Spring Season is our technical/tactical, ball mastery, moving off the ball, and no player rotation season (age appropriate lessons). Spring Season is also our tournament season for age appropriate groups. This is the season we keep track of scores.
Summer Season is league and team/player development focused.
It is important to understand that United States Soccer Prospects breaks down its yearly program into 3 seasons, a Fall, Spring, and Summer. By understanding this you now know the importance of continuation within the program for your child to achieve optimal success within the program structure.
