The following guidelines were prepared by New Canaan FC’s COVID-19 Committee and approved by New Canaan FC’s Board of Directors.


The goal is to keep our children safe during their soccer programming and to protect public health. In accordance with the CDC’s “Considerations for Youth Sports” and the State of Connecticut Sector Guidance we have outlined guiding principles for our soccer programs. All participants – parents, players, coaches – are expected to follow the guidelines outlined below.

MASK WEARING UPDATE – WINTER 2021 UPDATE


As directed by the Town of New Canaan Health Department & CDC, the wearing of masks will continue to be recommended but not mandatory for all spectators, parents, players and coaches in certain circumstances.


ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL NOT BE REQUIRED TO WEAR FOR ANY OUTDOOR PROGRAMMING which includes games and practices.


PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR MASKS FOR SELECT INDOOR PROGRAMMING IRRESPECTIVE OF VACCINATION STATUS.  All indoor activities taking place on school premises are required to wear masks per the Governors Executive Order.


 

FACILITY GUIDELINES - WINTER 2021 UPDATE

 

New Canaan High School – Outdoor Programs – Mask wearing IS NOT required

New Canaan High School – Indoor Programs – Mask wearing IS required

New Canaan Country School – Indoor Programs - Mask wearing IS required

Chelsea Piers CT – Indoor Programs – Mask wearing IS required unless vaccinated

 

QUARANTINE GUIDELINES - WINTER 2021 UPDATE

 

Fully vaccinated players, parents and coaches do not have to quarantine or test after a known exposure to COVID-19 as long as they remain asymptomatic. They must, however, wear a mask until receiving a negative COVID-19 test (taken between days 3 and 5 from the date of contact) or for 14 days without a test. Unvaccinated asymptomatic players, parents and coaches who are a close contact of a known COVID-19 case will quarantine for 10 days (with a negative test between days 7 and 10) or 14 days without a test. 


Vaccinated and unvaccinated players, parents and coaches who experience COVID-19 symptoms after close contact with a known COVID-19 case will quarantine for 10 days (with a negative test between days 7 and 10) or 14 days without a test

GENERAL - WINTER 2021 UPDATE


·       ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST ADHERE TO NEW CANAAN FC & LOCAL PUBCLIC SAFETY GUIDELINES AT ALL TIMES.

·       ALL INDOOR PROGRAMS WILL HAVE REGISTRATION TAKEN AT EACH EVEN IN CASE CONTACT TRACING IS REQUIRED.

·       Participants are not permitted to share water bottles or squirt water on one another.

·       Participants should be vigilant in preventing the spread of the COVID-19 virus by practicing good hygiene, social distancing, and wearing a protective facemask as recommended by CDC guidelines.

·       Participants must stay home and contact New Canaan FC if experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or if participant has been exposed to someone who has had signs or symptoms of COVID-19. Please see CDC guidelines for specific COVID-19 symptoms.

·       Participants who are repeatedly sneezing and/or coughing may be asked to immediately leave the current session and return when symptoms cease. (e.g., sneezing, coughing, or looks like they are not feeling well).
