SPRING '24 MINORS/MAJORS EVALS

Dear Cactus Little League families:

We are holding the first of two player evaluations this Saturday, Feb. 3, at Freedom Park Field 2. It is mandatory for players who plan to play Minors or Majors to participate in at least one session. Here’s what you need to know:

WEATHER

If the rain is really severe Friday and the fields are deemed unusable, we will send an email out Friday night or early Saturday morning to let you know. In the event we have to postpone, we will move the first eval session to the following day, Sunday, Feb. 4, with the same schedule as below.

SCHEDULE

* 9:30 a.m.: Check-in for players who intend to play Minors (ages 7-10)
* 10 a.m.-noon: Evaluations for first group (Minors)
* 11:30 a.m.: Check-in for players who intend to play Majors (ages 9-12)
* Noon-2 p.m.: Evaluations for second group (Majors)
(Note: If your child is 11 years old or turning 11 before Sept. 1, he/she MUST try out for Majors.)

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING

* Baseball pants or sweats
* Protective cup (male players only – mandatory for all practices/games)
* Baseball glove
* Water bottle
* Helmet (if you have one; if not, one will be provided)
* Bat (if you have one; if not, one will be provided)

COACHES

* If you have volunteered to be a coach for Minors or Majors, please plan to participate in the evaluations. The more data we can collect, the easier it will be to form fair, balanced teams.

REGISTRATION

* We also will be conducting in-person registration from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Online registration will remain open through mid-February. Your child will not be allowed to participate in evaluations if you haven't registered.

ETC.

* There is no evaluation for players in the Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, Intermediate (50/70) or Juniors divisions, or for softball. We may conduct an eval for Intermediate/Juniors at a later date. Families in these divisions will hear from a coach in the coming weeks.
* If you can’t make it this Saturday, the second evaluation is scheduled for next Saturday (Feb. 10) at the same time following the same format, weather permitting.
