MINORS/MAJORS EVALUATIONS 1/29

Dear Cactus Little League families:

We are holding the first of two player evaluations this Saturday (1/29) at Palo Verde Park Field 2. It is extremely important for players who plan to play Minors or Majors to participate in at least one session. Here’s what you need to know:

SCHEDULE
* 11:30 a.m.: Check-in for players who intend to play Minors (ages 7-10)
* Noon-2 p.m.: Evaluations for first group (Minors)
* 1:30 p.m.: Check-in for players who intend to play Majors (ages 9-12)
* 2-4 p.m.: Evaluations for second group (Majors)
(Note: If your child is 11 years old or turning 11 before Sept. 1, he/she MUST try out for Majors.)

WHAT TO WEAR/BRING
* Baseball pants or sweats
* Protective cup (male players only – mandatory for all practices/games)
* Baseball glove
* Water bottle
* Helmet (if you have one; if not, one will be provided)
* Bat (if you have one; if not, one will be provided)
* Completed medical-release form (if you haven’t submitted one already)
(Note: We strongly encourage players (and parents) to wear masks/facial coverings. As of now, this is not a requirement for the spring season. But with COVID cases spiking and players gathering in close quarters during the evaluation, it makes sense to play it safe.)

COACHES
* If you have volunteered to be a coach for Majors, please plan to participate in the evaluations. We still need coaches at all levels. You can volunteer through the website and/or fill out volunteer paperwork at the park.

REGISTRATION
* We also will be conducting our final in-person registration from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. If you haven’t registered yet, well, what are you waiting for? Online registration will remain open through Feb. 13.

ETC.
* There is no evaluation for players in the Tee Ball, Coach Pitch, Intermediate (50/70) or Juniors divisions. Families in these divisions will hear from a coach in the coming weeks.
* If you can’t make it this Saturday, the second evaluation is scheduled for next Saturday (2/5) at the same time following the same format.
