LEWISTON LITTLE LEAGUE
ALL-STAR PLAYER COMMITMENT AGREEMENT
Please read, and enroll on our registration website no later than Monday, May 16, 2022 if you wish to be considered for your league age All-Star Team. Enrollment on our website is considered acceptance of the terms below.
One goal of the All-Star program is to field very competitive teams to best represent LLL and our District in All-Star Tournament Play.
Tryouts for ALL (ages 8 – 12 years old) will be held. Tryouts are scheduled to be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022; times to be announced.
Please note that tournament teams are compiled by age (10U, 11U and 12U) and NOT the division that one played in during league. 10U team will be comprised of 8–10 year olds, 11U team will be comprised of 9-11 year olds and 12U will be comprised of players 10-12 years old. Once a player is chosen for a team, they must accept his or her spot on that team, or decline the opportunity to participate.
An important part of All-Star consideration is based upon a player’s written commitment to attend all All-Star Team practices and games throughout the All-Star Tournament. If you are already committed to be away on vacation or involved in other activities that could in any way limit or restrict your full participation and availability to attend All-Star practices or games, carefully consider your All-Star application as it could impact the opportunity for others who wish to play and be totally committed to All-Star teams.
By signing the commitment form below, both players and parents are agreeing to the following:
- Commitment to attend daily practices and weekend games beginning June 6, 2022 and continuing throughout the duration of the tournament schedule.
- Commitment to travel as required and to bear the expenses associated with such travel.
- Commitment as a parent of an All-Star player to fully participate in any required volunteer activities in support of the team or LLL.
- PLEASE NOTE: Follow-up calls may be made prior to team selection to discuss player/parent commitment.
Please read the following and review your family’s calendar carefully to ensure availability and commitment as described herein. Both the player and parent(s) or legal guardian(s) must sign at the bottom to acknowledge full agreement to this pledge:
If I am selected and accept selection to an All-Star Team, and my team wins the district tournament, I will be available to play in the State Tournament, Regional Tournament, and beyond (note: 10U and 11U teams only advance through the State Tournament, ending their season the end of July 2022). Baseball Districts will begin June 24th and Softball Districts will begin June 18th, 2022. I understand it is possible for my team to advance to the Little League World Series. Which could last through mid-to-late August, and, if so, I am committed to be available for all practices and games until the end of the tournament. I understand that the emphasis of All-Stars is different than regular season. Practices may be more often and more intense. The All-Star Team coaching staff will try and build a winning team, which means that different players will have to fulfill different roles. Even though I may have been one of the best players on my regular season team, I understand that I may not be a starter on the All-Star team, and may only see limited playing time as determined by the All-Star Team coaching staff. I will accept whatever role I am asked to play and accept that role with enthusiasm and complete dedication to the team’s overall success in the All-Star Tournament, even if this means only minimum playing time as defined by tournament rules. I understand, as do my parents, that being selected for the All-Star Team is a great honor and a great experience that will require hard work and a dedicated effort.
Little League tournament regulations regarding play time are as follows:
- Every eligible player on a team roster that is present at the start of a game must meet the mandatory play requirement applicable for that game. Depending on the number of rostered players present at the start of game mandatory play is either six (6) consecutive defensive outs and one at-bat or just one at bat (if there are 13 or more rostered players present at the start of the game).
Little League requires that the following be provided in order to participate in all star tournament play:
- A state issued copy of the player’s birth certificate. This must contain a raised seal. A photo copy or the hospital issued certificate will NOT work. If your child is considering this opportunity, please make sure you have this. If you do not have a state issued birth certificate, you will need to contact the vital statistics department in the state of birth to obtain one. The sooner this is done, the better. The birth certificate MUST be given to the league president, and will be returned once the team has completed tournament play.
- Three proofs of residency within the Lewiston Little League boundaries dated or in force during the period of February 1, 2021 and February 1, 2022. The following are acceptable for proof of residency:
- 1. Driver’s License
- 2. Voter’s Registration
- 3. School records
- 4. Welfare/child care records
- 5. Federal records
- 6. State records
- 7. Local (municipal) records
- 8. Support payment records
- 9. Homeowner or tenant records
- 10. Utility bills (i.e., gas, electric, water/sewer, phone, mobile phone, heating, waste disposal)
- 11. Financial (loan, credit, investments, etc.) records
- 12. Insurance documents
- 13. Medical records
- 14. Military records
- 15. Internet, cable or satellite records
- 16. Vehicle records
- 17. Employment records
- NOTE: Example – Three utility bills (three items from No. 10 above) constitute only ONE document. Any documents submitted as proof of residence must show customary usage or consumption to demonstrate bona fide continuous habitation as determined by Little League Baseball, Incorporated.
Once selected for the team, you will be required to bring your three proofs of residency and birth certificate to the scheduled meeting time. Proof of Residency must meet the Little League International Requirements for establishing residency.
For my part, I will do my best at all times and represent LLL in the best way I can by maintaining a positive attitude at all practices and games, respecting and supporting my teammates, managers, coaches, parents and umpires at all times, and practicing great sportsmanship wherever I go. I understand that failure at any time to abide by these principles will subject me to immediate removal from my team.
