Dear Colorado Ice Families
I hope this finds you safe and healthy!
We are reaching out to convey the one piece of information that most of us have been waiting for since March 12th. Colorado Soccer Association has made a final determination that the spring soccer season will be officially cancelled due to the restrictions that have been put in place to help mitigate the spread of Covid 19.
We have watched over the past 2 months as Coronavirus has wreaked havoc on our soccer community, not just locally but around the world. During this unprecedented crisis we have placed the health and safety of our players and their families first. We have followed all the state and local guidelines and will continue to do so in the future. As a mid-sized non-profit soccer club, we have felt the huge financial impact this global pandemic has placed on so many businesses and individuals. Along with our season specific costs and financial obligations we also have fixed costs that must be covered for our club to remain in business to support our community and our members.
Colorado Ice has been in business for 44 years, first established as Table Mountain Soccer Assn in 1976. Your Board of Directors has been very fiscally responsible during those years which puts us in a position to be able to offer our members a fair and equitable financial compensation for the cancellation of the spring season. Many other clubs are not as fortunate and will not be able to offer as much, if any, financial compensation to their members. We are glad that we are able to do so.
First, we would like to thank all of our members for trusting Colorado Ice through this process. We understand that there are many options available in youth sports and we appreciate you choosing Ice for your child’s soccer experience! We understand that every family needs to be in control of when they feel safe and comfortable returning to the fields once the guidelines allow us to do so. It is important to us to offer options.
Your Board of Directors and Staff are all a part of our wonderful local community and we want to continue to provide for not only all of you but any of your friends that are looking for a soccer club that believes our members come first and that we are all a part of one family – Colorado Ice!
