GAFFNEY, SC - The FBH ANGELS 13U team snagged a late lead in the semi-final to defeat the Mountain Fire 7-5 on Sunday to advance to the Championship Game. The game was tied at three with FBH ANGELS batting in the top of the fourth when Jake Higginbottom drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the first inning, the ANGELS got their offense started when Ethan Champion singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Mountain Fire evened things up at three in the bottom of the third inning when Stratton T grounded out, scoring one run.
Jacoby Kelly was on the hill for FBH ANGELS. The hurler allowed six hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three.
Nehemiah started the game for Mountain Fire surrendered three runs on five hits over three innings, striking out two. The Mountain Fire had two pitchers entered the game in relief, each throwing only one inning respectively.
FBH SC ANGELS racked up nine hits in the game. Ethan Champion (C), Kaleb Sepko (3B), and Ian Reichert (CF) each collected multiple hits for FBH SC ANGELS. Mountain Fire had six hits in the game. Nehemiah and Patrick A all managed multiple hits for Mountain Fire. The Mountain Fire was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Ryker W had the most chances in the field with five.
