BOILING SPRINGS, SC - The FBH Angels have officially named Michael Pope as the team's new manager. The California native was the top runner of several candidates that were interviewed for the vacancy. “I love their enthusiasm and knowledge of the game. Really feel they will add a spark to this young team.”  said Persails. Coach Pope will be taking over the departing Eric Moore. Coach Pope has already begun adding to his coaching staff and will be joined by his brother Joshua Pope as they get ready for the 2021 Fall Season. Lyle said, “I had a chance to watch these two coaches in action during the 2021 Spring Season, the way they communicated with the team and dealt with adversity was amazing, I knew we wanted them in our organization at some capacity, when this opening came available, I felt this would be a great combo to transition in.”

Pope, is the second manager of the 14U Angels and brings a wealth of knowledge to the club. The Pope Brothers have been around baseball for the past 20 years and have actively been coaching for the past 10. “We are excited to continue our coaching journey with the Angels and look forward to sharing our knowledge and fundamentals of the game we love.” Shared Coach Pope.

Coach Pope, originally from Los Angeles, California shared in the experience of winning the 2012 CIF City Championship hosted at Dodger Stadium. Both brothers are not shy from new organizations as they had a fantastic oppurtunity to help develop and implement a special needs baseball league in their community. West Hill Champions is still active today, helping more kids learn to love the game of baseball.

“We can’t wait to start working and developing our players.” Said Pope. Pope is looking forward to meeting the returning players and welcoming some of the new players as they get ready to return to the field later this month.
