HILLSBOROUGH SOCCER CLUB

One Team, One Club, One Community

WHAT IS HILLSBOROUGH SOCCER CLUB?

Hillsborough Soccer Club is a travel soccer club located in Hillsborough, NJ 08844.

We are a not-for-profit organization, run by a volunteer Board of Directors. All parent coaches are volunteers as well and have earned their NJ State 'F' license. The club currently has boys' and girls' travel teams starting at U8 through U18.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

One Team, One Club, One Community

Hillsborough Soccer Club (HSC) has conformed to the 2016 US Soccer mandates in that HSC teams are formed by birth year.  Even though this transition took immense effort, HSC believes that the changes that have been made are beneficial and will allow the club to thrive.

Hillsborough Soccer Club is a little different than some other clubs in New Jersey.  HSC believes in a One Team, One Club, One Community approach. HSC teams do not have club dividing or autonomous team names, i.e. Cobras, Stingers, Wasps, etc.  Instead All HSC teams are named by their Birth, Gender, and League of play.  For example: HSC 2010 Boys EDP.  The club has designated the team names in this way to reflect the club’s One Team, One Club, One Community approach.  HSC wants to create a culture where all members feel they are equal parts of one team.

A 501(c)3 NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION

HSC is a qualified charitable organization for tax deductible contributions. Your generous contributions and those of sponsoring companies will support scholarships, equipment, tournament and club/league expenses. Many local companies offer corporate matching programs. Please check to see if your company will match your contribution or support charitable volunteer organizations in any way!

In accordance with federal law, contributions of money or property that are made to, or for the use of, a qualified organization by an individual or a company are tax deductible. The contributions must be made to the qualified organization and not set aside for use by a specific person. Contributions for which a tax deduction will be sought should be made to the club, and not to a specific team or individual.

Under current Federal record-keeping rules, a donor claiming a deduction of $250 or more is required to obtain and keep a written acknowledgment from the Club, which is available upon request from the Treasurer.

We will be updating website with information on when, where, and how donations and sponsorships can be made under the administration of the Ways and Means Director.
