east county little league where memories are made and friends become family

MOST RECENT NEWS AS OF 9/30/2020

Greetings and thank you for your interest in East County Little League!

If you ever have questions please reach out [email protected] for the most accurate and timely response.

The planning process for this Spring 2021 season has been different than we have ever had in the past.

Please be patient and flexible with us and reach out if you have any questions. We are all volunteers trying our best to make this season a reality for our whole community.

We are planning this season without clear rules stating what we are going to be able do once the season is open. East County Little League will continue to follow the guidelines set by our county officials. If our season were to start today, we would still not be allowed to play actual games. We would be limited to camp like settings only allowing our teams to practice (without exposure to other teams, no games, or scrimmages). If this is the case, we would hope to transition into games as soon as it is allowed. We are all wishing for a loosening of restrictions, freeing our fields and opportunities for our players to play some real games. If we are limited to camps, we will still strive to provide all the benefits and great environment East County Little League is known for.

There are many issues we are monitoring, not limited to the following…

If we are not opened to play together by January, tryouts may be near impossible. Balanced teams make our games fun. We may have to create a virtual option so our managers can draft even teams.

If we do not have games, our plan is to create teams and use our fields for camps.

Actual COVID safety policies will be posted closer to season start, once situations are more concrete. Policies will most likely eliminate sharing of equipment, create spacing guidelines or dugout substitutions, and will address spectators to practices and games.

We understand that this pandemic has caused financial stress to many of our families, we have extended our “early bird discount” 2 weeks this year to help with the initial cost of the season, please register early. We are also partners with The Newberry Block ( LINK ), they offer financial assistance to families in our community that want to participate in organized sports but may need help overcoming financial barriers.

Besides our families, we also understand that our community and local business are also suffering financial setbacks. We need our sponsors now as much as ever and do not know if we are going to be able to rely on each of them as they have helped to keep our league a success for the last 30 years.

East County Little League has not increased our price in 3 years and will be keeping them the same this year as we continue to keep our program one of the most affordable options in the area.

We understand the uncertainty can be concerning for some. Please register and hope for an open season. Early registrations help in determining our leagues success. If you do register, a 100% refund will be available until players are placed on teams in late January. We will give everyone notice as soon as the cutoff date is finalized.

Thank you all for the support you have shown our Little League. The ECLL Board of Volunteers is working hard to make this season happen, and we cannot do to it without YOU!
