Coach Dominick's LUSC U15G team had a 2-1 lead going into the final match. The championship game went into overtime with a 1-1 tie. The center defender volunteered to be goalie for the penalty kicks as the regular goalie was hit in the head at the end of the regular game. The championship was won 2-1 by penalty kicks. Go Lightening, great team work, great job!
Coach Ruff's LUSC U10C Arsenal team had a great weekend taking second place in the 2018 KC Finale Tournament at Lone Elm Park in Olathe, KS. The team went 2-1 in the pool play beating a Division 8 SKV team 7-4 & a Division 6 team 4-0 from Heartland. They played a UCC team from Jefferson, Missouri that was excellent and fell short in the finals with a score of 4-0. Great job U10C Arsenal team.If you see the team, congratulate them on a great finish to the tourney!
Coach Whitlow's LUSC U12B Ubuntu team took the championship in the 2018 Raytown Autumn Bash the team went 3-0-1 on the weekend to take the Championship for their division. The team took their first game 2-1, then the second with a score of 2-2 for their only tie. The final pool game they won 2-0 and that placed them in the finals. Where they played the Alliance Celtic team from heartland Division 6 and won the championship with a score of 4-2. They finished group play with the most points of 22, scoring 10 goals for and only allowing 5 against throughout the tournament. Coach Whitlow states, "the win was a team effort, we have used the mantra 'UBUNTU' as a team the origins are from the South African term used by Nelson Mandela, meaning "I am, because we are", a fitting chant for his team. Great job Coach Whitlow and U12 Boys Team. If you see them around the pitches congratulate them on a job well done.
Coach Whitlow's LUSC U12B 07s team did it again and took the championship in the Challenger Fall Classic 2018 Tournament. They went 3-0 in their bracket to make the finals. In bracket play they were a +18 goal differential with 20 goals for and ONLY 2 against. In the finals they played a quality team from the KC Blaze club and took the championship with a score of 5-3. Great job Coach Whitlow and team. If you see them around the pitches congratulate them on a job well done.
Coach Whitlow's LUSC U11B 07s team took Second Place in the Bronze Division at the Heartland Fall Kick-Off Challenge Tournament with a 2-2-0 Record. They took first place in their bracket play with a 2-1-0 record scoring 13 goals and allowing 11 against. In the final, it was a hard-fought contest but the LUSC Boys fell short in a 2-1 loss in the championship game.Congratulation to the LUSC U11B 07s - Squad on their accomplishment.What a great start to the season!
