In November of 2022, the Whatcom County Select B2011 team began training to be the club's first entry into Founder's Cup, a statewide tournament organized by Washington Youth Soccer. Founders Cup presents an opportunity for youth players in Washington to experience the next level of competition.

Led by head coach Ryan Hansen and assistant coach Colin Fly, the team worked hard and pushed their way out of the group stage and into the quarterfinals! Team manager Erin Gorman had this to say on the tournament:

“Founders Cup was an excellent experience - all players and families had a great time! The tournament lasts roughly one month, taking place in January. Players not only grew developmentally during their off season, but they also spent a lot of time bonding as a team. From hotel stays to team dinners, the experience was a blast!”

After their quarterfinal appearance the WCS B2011 team was featured on local radio station Kafe 104.1. Players were interviewed about their Founders Cup experience, offering a range of serious and silly responses.
