Players/Teams

What are the expectations of players?
  • Expectation is for this to be a flexible, family oriented approach to summer soccer. We will be holding practices 2x and 1 game per week over a 7 week season with no games and practices the week before July 4th. We are not going to hold players to required attendance at practice for participation, but encourage as much participation as possible so that we have good soccer practices for the teams.
Will there be tryouts?
  • No, there will not be tryouts for the teams. We will be forming teams based on coach discretion. If there is a high interest in any one team, that coach will work with Director of Coaching Leigh Rumbold to determine a suitable approach or potentially form two teams.
Are Recreational players welcome?
  • Rec players are welcome to consider joining for the summer, but the expectation for skills will be high. Coaches will be available to consult on fit for any players that aren't sure they are ready for travel soccer.
What will be the coach assignments and commitment from coaches?
  • Saline FC will be using our existing Saline FC coaches for the summer teams.
What will the roster size be?
  • We will aim for 2-3 subs per team.
What happens if we do not have enough players to form a given team?
  • We will be forming teams by combining age groups, recruiting externally, and more to help form good teams that are able to have a fun, enjoyable experience this summer.
