New Jersey Youth Soccer

General Information

NJ Youth Soccer insurance covers registered members with Accidental Medical, General & Excess Liability, and Directors and Officers Liability Insurance policies.  Members of NJ Youth Soccer will be covered while participating in sanctioned soccer activities (e.g. practice, games, and tournaments).  


Accident Medical

NJ Youth Soccer Accident Medical Insurance is a secondary insurance intended to supply supplemental coverage to assist with medical bills resulting from a covered injury.  Claims should be submitted to the claimant’s medical insurance first. Then submit medical claim form.

The plan is underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company and brokered by USI Insurance Services. 

There is a $1,000 deductible per covered accident for the 9/1/23 - 9/1/24 policy year.

The plan consists of:

Excess Accident Medical Benefit Maximum $100,000 per Injury 

Accident Medical Deductible $1,000 per Injury Benefit Period 104 weeks from the date of the accident 

Dental Expense Max Benefit $50,000 per Injury**

Physical Therapy / Chiropractic .

Prescription Drug Expense Max Benefit $1,000 per Injury**

Durable Medical Equipment Benefit $1,000 per Injury** 

Accidental Death & Specific Loss $5,000 

Subject to Accident Medical Expense Deductible and Benefit Maximum. 


The Accident Medical Benefit is full excess / secondary coverage. Benefits for Accident Medical Expense will be paid only for such expense(s) which are not recoverable from any other insurance policy, service contract, or workers' compensation contract.

General and Excess Liability

NJ Youth Soccer General and Excess Liability Coverage provides protection for claims arising from incidents occurring during a sanctioned event that is under the direct supervision of a team or club official.

LIMITS:

$1,000,000 per occurrence

$5,000,000 general aggregate

$1,000,000 products/completed operations aggregate limit

$1,000,000 personal & advertising injury limit

$300,000 damage to premises rented 

$5,000,000 Excess Liability. 


Sexual Abuse and Molestation coverage -$2,000,000 limit  Each Occurrence and $4,000,000. Annual Aggregate

There is also a limit in coverage for “Neurodegenerative Injury” under G.L.

$1,000,000 Claim Expense Cap

* Also note under the Excess Liability policy there is no coverage for “Neurodegenerative Injury”

Who is covered:  

registered players, 

registered coaches

administrators of registered clubs and leagues

NJ Youth Soccer.

What is Excluded:

Participation in a non-sanctioned event

Travel outside of New Jersey without permission to travel

Referee instruction courses

Private Camps

Coverage Exclusions:

Communicable diseases

No coverage is provided to parents, coaches, or volunteers while using any automobile to transport team members or volunteers to any sanctioned event.

Worker's compensation claims

Nuclear energy claims

Act of war or undeclared war (riot)

Terrorist Acts

Certificates of Insurance

NJYS will issue Certificates of Additional Named Insured for Soccer Fields used by our member clubs. At the beginning of the seasonal year, we will issue updated certificates for all additional insured that are currently on file.   COI’s will be issued to those clubs that have (1)completed and submitted their NJYS Club Questionnaire in the new Seasonal Year and (2) are in good standing with New Jersey Youth Soccer (all fees are paid up to date).

Directors and Officers Insurance

Who is Covered:

New Jersey Youth Soccer and its scheduled affiliate member clubs, leagues, and associations, including any individual who has been, now is or shall become a director, officer, governor, trustee, equivalent executive, employee (whether salaried or not), volunteer, leased or temporary employee, or committee member.

NJ Youth Soccer Directors and Officers Coverage provides protection for claims arising from the following.

Wrongful act means any actual or alleged breach of duty, neglect, error, misstatement, misleading statement, omission by the Organization or an individual insured in the performance of duties on behalf of the entity

Employment practices liability coverage, including wrongful termination, sexual harassment, discrimination, and breach of employment contract

Claim includes any written demand for any insured for monetary damages or other relief seeking to hold an insured responsible for a wrongful act 

Personal & Advertising Injury included (defamation, libel/slander, wrongful eviction) • Punitive damage coverage included 

Third-party discrimination coverage included 

The plan is underwritten by Everest National Insurance Company and brokered by USI Insurance Services.


Members must be scheduled/ listed onto the policy.

Deductible is the responsibility of the claimant (e.g., Club/League) when claim is filed

NOTABLE EXCLUSIONS APPLY: 
Bodily Injury, Property Damage, Class Action Lawsuits, Sexual Abuse, Peer Review, Professional Services, Breach of Contract, Neurodegenerative injuries
