Recreation Leagues

3M Soccer League was founded in 2002 when East Brunswick Soccer Club and many other clubs saw a diminishing participation from recreational soccer players in the older ranks. During the first two seasons of the league, East Brunswick Soccer Club and East Windsor Soccer Club only had two boys teams that were created from a combination of U13-U18 players. As the years progressed, the league has expanded dramatically to currently include a combined 35 boys and girls teams in nine different towns. Further, the expanded growth has led to the formation of Junior (U13-15) and Senior Divisions. Overall, the 3M Soccer League now gives more than 600 players the opportunity to play through their senior year of high school.

Northern Burlington Recreation Soccer League (NBRSL) is a recreation soccer program for boys and girls players in Burlington County, covering the New Jersey towns of Mansfield, Chesterfield, Springfield, North Hanover and Florence. At the cornerstone of the league is the Northern Burlington Soccer Club, which was previously a member of the Midlands Soccer League. When that organization disbanded in 2021, club leadership recognized the importance of having a league for youth players in the area and established the NBRSL.

Ocean County Recreation Soccer (OCRS) is a collection of clubs and townships throughout Ocean County. There is a range of 10-15 clubs that are involved, and league play has eclipsed 100 teams at times. The purpose of the OCRS is to create a place for players who are not ready for travel soccer, or for parents who cannot commit to a travel schedule. The league strives to keep soccer enjoyable for youth players who range in age from 6 to 13-years-old.

Rockaway Valley Soccer League (RVSL) is a recreational soccer league for 6 to 18-year-old players without flighting or standings. Servicing teams in both Morris and Sussex County, the league has a range of 10 to 15 townships represented during its spring and fall seasons. The goal of the league is to provide a safe and productive environment that enables children to learn and apply the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication and sportsmanship. The RVSL also encourages youth coaching and promotes youth referee training.

Suburban Youth Soccer League (SYSL) is a non-profit, semi-recreational soccer league based in Union County, New Jersey. The league has approximately 3,100 players and averages 160 teams per season, representing 16 townships and clubs at the U9 to high school age levels. SYSL supports good sportsmanship, positive learning and fair play with a Kids Remember Moments, Not Scores mentality.

National Competitions

ABOUT THE USYS NATIONAL LEAGUE - MID ATLANTIC CONFERENCE

The Mid Atlantic Conference, Managed by EDP Soccer, is one of 13 conferences that fall under the scope of the US Youth Soccer National League and operate at a multi-state level — providing high-level competition on a consistent basis at a targeted local level (Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey).

The Mid Atlantic Conference’s top tier of divisions (Premier I Division and Academy) offers its teams an opportunity to advance to the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships, which are held annually each summer, as well as to qualify for the following season of National League P.R.O. Mid Atlantic Conference teams also have access to the National League Showcase Series, which offers a unique opportunity for teams to compete within a national platform with diverse cross-Conference matchups against teams from differing parts of the country.

The US Youth Soccer National League provides annual league competitions at the multi-state and national tiers for the highest levels of boys and girls teams in US Youth Soccer.

The multi-state tier of competition is comprised of the National League Conferences, which debuted in the 2018-19 season to replace what were previously known as the US Youth Soccer Regional Leagues. The national tier of competition is National League P.R.O. — Player, Recruitment, Opportunity — which provides a platform for top teams in the country to compete in a league format that offers a direct pathway to the annual US Youth Soccer National Championships.

ABOUT NATIONAL LEAGUE P.R.O.

US Youth Soccer National League P.R.O. (Player. Recruitment. Opportunity.) operates as the competitive national league format in which teams compete for direct advancement to the annual US Youth Soccer National Championships. Teams earn their place into National League P.R.O. each season through their performance in the National League Conferences. Any unfilled slots become open and are filled through an application process.

National League P.R.O. provides competition for boys and girls teams in the 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U, 18U and 19U age groups. Teams are separated into divisions of eight teams each and play a seven-game schedule — divided among two national events and a local game.

The top teams from each division advance to the US Youth Soccer National Championships, the oldest and most prestigious youth soccer national championship in the country. The National League P.R.O. representatives will join the four Regional Champions in the 14U through 19U age groups to play for the National Championship.

In addition to National League P.R.O. providing a platform for enhanced development (Player), as well as qualification and advancement pathways (Opportunity), it presents an ideal environment for evaluation by college coaches (Recruitment). With all games being meaningful, coaches have a great opportunity to see how players perform in various competitive situations.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL LEAGUE SHOWCASE SERIES

The US Youth Soccer National League Showcase Series offers a unique opportunity for National League Conference teams to compete within a national platform. Each showcase provides diverse cross-Conference matchups against teams from differing parts of the country — testing each player to adapt to various styles of play and new challenges that arise when facing uncommon opponents.

Group alignments based on Conference performance will create opportunities for evenly-matched and competitive games, which creates an optimal environment for scouting. Given the number of competitive teams and geographic diversity, the National League Showcase Series presents an invaluable opportunity for scouts from all levels — college, professional and international, along with US Youth Soccer ODP — to evaluate a large number of players who will become future key contributors to their programs.
