BGCNRI Raptors Travel Flag

The BGCNRI Raptors (formally Northern RI Ballhawks) are flag football tournament teams run by the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern RI. The goal of our program is to play at very competitive levels of the sport while teach players the proper flag football techniques physically as well as mentally. Our teams participate in tournaments in New England with a goal to compete and qualify for national championships.

Starting in 2021, all participants must play in at least 1 of our NFL Flag leagues per NFL Flag tournament rules in order to play at the NFL Flag Regionals in November.

Practices are held at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern RI Cumberland-Lincoln Clubhouse or down the street at the Berkeley Oval.

We are now including:

1 Practice per week
1 Indoor flag football season (Jan-Mar)
8 Tournament registration fees (between Mar-Aug)
Team Sessions with Dynamic Physical Training
ALL player verification cards (National Sports ID, ZortsSports, WWIS Card)
Uniform (Personalized Jersey, NFL Flag Performance shorts, Wrist Coach, Flag Belt)
2022 Youth Membership ($35 value!)

Tryouts for the 2023 Season are November 19th! Times and registration will open on September 1st!

2021 (Inaugural Year)

In our inaugural tournament (CT Flag Nutmeg Spring Shootout), the 12U Boys and the 14U Boys were each crowned champions. Our 12U team was crowned division 2 champions at the UConn Cup.

On November 13th, both 12U AND 14U teams were crowned N.E. Patriots Regional Champions at Fore Kicks in Taunton, MA. They represented the Patriots at the NFL Flag National Championships at the Pro Bowl in Las Vegas, Nevada!

At the Pro Bowl, the 12U team made the National Championship but came up short against Canada. The 14U team was crowned National Champions by beating Jacksonville 26-6 in the final! We are beyond proud of both teams for their accomplishments in the inaugural season of travel flag football at BGCNRI.

2022 BGCNRI Raptors

For 2022, we fielded a 10U team, 2 12U teams and a 14U team. We also had a 15U team for one tournament.

12U (Smith) and the 14U team started off hot by both going 9-0 in the November to January NFL Flag indoor league at Wide World of Indoor Sports winning their championships.

12U (Smith) won the Division 2 Championship at the NEFFL Spring Fling, earning them a bid to the Youth Flag Football World Championships at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Disney World.

14U won the Rhode Island Flag Football Spring League AND the 2022 RI Madness Cup, earning them a bid to the Youth Flag Football World Championships at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Disney World.
