New Jersey Youth Soccer member recreational clubs and leagues are focused on offering youth soccer settings to youth players of any age where the player is interested in the enjoyment and development of soccer in a less committed environment. The recreational level of play is an ideal entry point for the player who wants to be introduced to the game, play with friends, and participate on a team.

TEAM REGISTRATION

Recreation programs are not required to submit teams to NJYS. However, should a recreation program participate in an NJYS member recreation league, team submission may be required.

PLAYER REGISTRATION

Every player, regardless of a new or returning status, must have a new application (i.e., registration) submitted for them each year. This can occur through the upload portal by completing the upload player template with updated information for the player, through the Sports Connect club platform, or by manual entry (only recommended for less than 15 players).

COACH REGISTRATION

Register Coaches (Submit SafeSport, Concussion Certificates, & Background Check)

All adults applying as a recreation member (i.e. recreation coach) must submit the appropriate compliance documents to NJ Youth Soccer via the coach’s Sports Connect account for verification (if not previously verified). See the compliance requirements below:

*For clubs that do not utilize the Sports Connect Club Platform (formerly Blue Sombrero), coaches shall register on njyouthsoccer.com via the link above. 

There is a $9.00 fee for recreation coaches.  A background check will be run automatically on all adult registrants.  All adult coaches must register themselves to ensure proper coverage.

As a reminder, background checks with NJYS are valid for two seasonal years; therefore, coaches that completed background checks in the 2021-2022 seasonal year will not require a new background check; however, the coach must still register annually with NJYS to be considered covered. Additionally, the Rutgers Safety Course is not accepted for risk management requirements with NJYS in any category.

Make Payment for Registrations

Clubs are invoiced on the 1^st of each month through the NJYS registration platform. This invoice will include any registration activity that occurred in the month prior. For instructions regarding payment remittance, click here.
