Call for coaches

The Track & Field team is in need of coaches in all areas; sprinting, long distance, field events, hurdles, relays, you-name-it. We are in particular, we are looking for folks to help out with the Elementary/Middle School team. All levels of expertise are welcome. General Information

The Austin Royals track and field program is open to homeschoolers from 5th thru 12th grade. The 2024 Elementary & Middle School season lasts from March thru the end of April. The 2024 High School season lasts from January, 9th, 2024 thru the end of April. The National Homeschool track meet is an optional age-based track meet held annually in in early May in MO.

The Royals track program includes sprints, relays, hurdles, mid and long-distance events. The practice facility for the running events is at the Southwest Williamson County Regional Park track at 3005 CR 175, Leander, TX 78641, just north of 1431 and Sam Bass. MS/Elem practices are Wed/Fri mornings, 7:30am-9am. High school practices are Tues/Wed//Thurs, 7:30am-9am, except distance practices daily.

We also train and compete in the field events of long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put & discus. These are Mon/Thurs afternoon practices at various locations from 4:30-6p. Athletes who are interested in pole vault may take private lessons and be included in that event in the track meets.

The High School team competes in 6-9 area public and private school track meets in the spring including the Texas State Homeschool track meet. The MS/Elem generally have 3-4 meets during the season, one being the ACAA Championship, and one being the Texas State Homeschool Championship.

Everyone is required to turn in a physical by the first practice. You may also use one from your doctor's office. Physical Evaluation- Med History for 2020 - 2021
