Big Minors Rules
League Goals:
Get players ready for majors.
Continued development of fundamentals.
o Throwing, catching, hitting
Increased focus on pitching / catching
o Pitching rubber can vary from 32’ to 45’ based on player ability
o All pitchers considering majors next year should be throwing from the rubber by the end of the season
Increased focused on baseball IQ
o Situational defense
o Baserunning
League Rules:
Roster
o All players bat
o Free substitutions
Every player must play at least 1 inning in the infield each game.
After 4 balls the offensive teams coach comes in to pitch.
o Coach must pitch from the pitching rubber (32’ to 45’)
o The coach needs to pitch standing up, not from a knee
Max of 5 runs per inning except for the losing team in the 6th inning
10 run rule after 4 innings.
No new inning started after 90 minutes from start time.
A pitcher may hit a maximum of 4 batters before they need to be replaced with a new pitcher.
No bunting
Maximum of 2 steals per inning. (Starting Mid Season)
o A player can only steal if the catcher catches the ball or knocks it down in the immediate area (reaching
distance).
o CAN NOT STEAL HOME
Extra base on an overthrow or error is not permitted
A base hit on the ground in the infield is a maximum of a double.
A batted ball that lands in the outfield grass is allowed unlimited bases until fielded by an outfielder and thrown in.
Home team gets the field ready for the game. (Drag/rake, Baselines)
Visiting team rakes and drags field after the game.
Arrive at least 30 min prior to any game.

If a pitcher reaches the pitch count mid batter, they may continue to pitch until the batter reaches base, the batter
is put out, the third out is made, is removed from the mound.
40 pitch limit for all players if they intend to play the position of catcher after pitching.
