Soccer Parents,
We hope everyone has been staying safe and healthy during this unprecedented time. Due to the COVID-19 crisis and in accordance to the phased plans coming from the state government, NYSWYSA (New York State Youth Soccer Association) has pushed back all youth soccer activities from June 1st to June 30th. This date is tentative and it is likely that players would have to keep 6 feet distance from each other at the start of reopening. Obviously, keeping social distancing within groups of young children and their coaches is not realistic. Therefore, we are suspending our summer leagues at all Buffalo area locations.
- We will be providing full credit to any future SoccerRoos program (indoors or outdoors).
- We are currently working on developing weekly online SoccerRoos Zoom classes for all of the summer participants on Saturday mornings starting in June.
- We will have exact times per age group posted and emailed soon
- No need to sign up, I will send you the log-in once finalized
- This is not a replacement for the summer league you registered for, it’s an extra service we are providing until we can all get back out on the field together. You will have full credit for a future program that fits with your schedule (Winter/Spring indoors or Summer/Fall outdoors).
I have 4 young children of my own, and speaking for my own household, they are really missing the interaction with other kids and the release of energy through physical and mental exercise that they get in organized athletics like soccer. We will resume normal activities as soon as we can do so safely and within the state and local guidelines. We will update everyone on the possibility of a late summer or fall season as things progress. We are also monitoring other youth programs around the country to see how things go with reopening attempts in other states. We can learn what works and what doesn’t, before we reopen.
