Hello Parents!
West Bend Little League is pleased to announce that there will be a Fall League again this year. The basic
information for the league is outlined in this letter including important dates.
What is Fall League? The Fall League is a separate season with new teams built designed to give kids who want
to continue their baseball or softball experience past what they received in the summer. It is also structured to
move the oldest kids of each Spring League level to the level they will play next year. This gives them valuable
experience for the next year’s Spring League. The Fall League stresses the fundamentals. Games are still played,
but no standings are kept. Teams are determined by evaluations (excluding Rookies and TBall), similar to the
Spring League. The evaluation dates are 8/5 through 8/7 and will be held at the West Bend Little League
Complex at 600 E Water St. (details for evaluation times will be given out upon registration). The dates are
specific to certain divisions.
Who can play in Fall League? Players need not have been in the West Bend Little League system to play in the
Fall League. Players from other communities (but not limited to) like Grafton, Kewaskum and Slinger are
eligible to play. Players of all skill levels are welcome!
How are teams built? Other than Rookies and Tball, teams are built upon ranking players based on their
evaluation score to help balance out the talent, pitching and catching abilities. If a player cannot make an
evaluation, we request that parents provide a contact for a coach that has worked with them during the summer for
a basic assessment of skills. Requests for carpools or “same team” will be honored WITHIN REASON. This is
not a league where an entire summer traveling team can play together on the same team. This league is about
working on fundamentals and basics. Teams are built as evenly as possible on paper. Rookie and Tball teams are
built based on school attendance as much as possible. Coaching needs come first, so some players may be split
up from their normal classmates.
What is the divisional structure of the Fall League? The breakdown for each level and league ages are as follows.
Please read the league age breakdown carefully. There are new rules as of this year depending on the age you are.
Tball: introduction to the fundamentals of baseball; smaller teams and batters hit balls off a batting tee
Rookies: Machine Pitch – introduction to baseball with pitched balls to batters
Midwest: Player Pitch – league where players first begin pitching to batters. Rules are set up to maximize
playing time and develop pitching.
Intermediate: introduction to “real” baseball on a 50’ pitching mound and 70’ base paths. This game teaches the
fundamentals of leading off, holding runners on and for pitchers to work on pitching out of the stretch.
Juniors: real baseball on a 60’ 6” pitching distance and 90’ base paths – same size as a high school diamond
GFP Softball (Minors): introductory level to fast pitch softball, 35’ pitching distance
GFP Softball (Majors): next level of fast pitch softball with, 40’ pitching distance
League ages (LA) are calculated by Little League rules. Bold ages are 2024 (current year) league ages. If players
coming from outside Little League programs and your player falls in a different level than expected, please
contact the league.
Tball: 4 to 5 year olds (Birthdates on or between September 1, 2018 – August 31, 2020)
Rookies: 6 to 7 year olds (Birthdates on or between September 1, 2016 – August 31, 2018)

When is the Fall League? The Fall League will start in mid-August (practices) with the season starting

season will be a randomly seeded tournament for Midwest divisions on up (depending upon number of teams).

WBLL cannot properly do a background check as mandated through Little League International.
When are games played? Normally, games are played during the week (Monday – Friday). A structure will be
developed to help minimize late nights especially for the younger players. Details on the exact structure will be
determined by the turnout and number of teams. Be aware that at the end of the season, there will be games
played on the last Saturday. Older divisions and Softball will probably have a season ending tournament.
