American Legion Baseball National Office cancels Baseball Season

This week WWVBC was notified by the Washington State American Legion Baseball organization that the national headquarters had decided in response to the ongoing Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic that it would cancel the 2020 summer national baseball tournament.  Furthermore, that each state organization would be in contact with their respective league teams on the status of the summer American Legion Baseball season for their respective jurisdiction.

"This Wednesday, April 8th, our scheduling director, Ryan Van Dyke, was notified by the Washington State Legion Baseball organization that all league and tournament play for the 2020 season would be cancelled as well", explained WWVBC board President, Andy Coleman.

The board of directors are meeting Friday April 10th to discuss what the WWVBC teams for 13U - 18U could potentially do in June and July as we get through this unprecedented time.  Board Vice President, Corey Braunel shared, "We look forward to having our kids compete in some way this summer as we know that all of them are very eager to play the game they love. They have had to go through this crazy time without the norms we have all come to understand are a very important part of our society.  Playing some baseball, if and when that opportunity arises will make it feel like a step in the right direction."
