REGULAR SEASON PROGRAMS
Rookie T-Ball:
- Pre-K and Kindergarten (pre-K children must be age 4 as of August 31)
- Noncompetitive introductory level (score is not kept)
- Teams are assembled by the EJLL board and/or coaches (requests for pairing participants and coaches are often considered at this level, but cannot be guaranteed).
- Cost: $75
Rookie Coach Pitch:
- Kindergarten and 1st grade (kindergarten children after a season of T-Ball - 2nd graders with little experience welcomed!)
- Noncompetitive introductory level - score is not kept but games are played according to most baseball rules.
- Batters receive three pitches, after which a the tee is used to keep the pace of game moving.
- Teams are assembled by the EJLL board and/or coaches (requests for pairing participants and coaches are often considered at this level, but cannot be guaranteed).
- Cost: $75
Minors:
- For ages 8, 9, and 10 (age as of August 31 - 2nd graders with limited experience are welcomed in coach pitch - 1st graders with additional experience are welcomed).
- Kids pitch, score is kept, as participants are introduced to competitive game play.
- Teams are assembled by the head coaches and the player agent via a draft, with the primary goal being balancing baseball skill and ability among the teams. (With those goals as the primary objective when assembling teams, requests for pairing participants and coaches are typically not considered at this level)
- Cost: $100
Majors:
- For ages 11 and 12 (age as of August 31).
- Competitive game play.
- Teams are assembled by the head coaches and the player agent via a draft, with the primary goal being balancing baseball skill and ability among the teams. (With those goals as the primary objective when assembling teams, requests for pairing participants and coaches are typically not considered at this level)
- Cost: $100
General information for the regular season:
- Regular season games typically begin in late April / early May and end in early June.
- All levels often start practices by mid-April (dependent on weather and field conditions)
- Online registration usually opens in January / February, and is done through Essex Junction Parks and Recreation: https://www.ejrp.org
